Primary Students in Bolton have been taking part in Primary Engineer design and make activities, we are looking for engineers who will be able to act as judges at the celebration challenge.

Students will be judged on the design build and evaluation of their vehicles as well as practical tests they put their vehicles through.

If you would like to act as a judge, then please get in touch - remember this is a primary event so judging does not have to be at a technical level.

We are looking for someone from a scientific background who could come and deliver a talk to a group of either year 9 or year 10 pupils (13 - 15 years old).
We are aiming for a lecture to inform them about science after leaving school and the various jobs studying science can lead to. The talk should last under an hour so there is a short time for Q&A at the end. We do not require anyone from a particular job, as long as it is rooted in science.

What I can offer to schools

I am an experienced public speaker, and have carried out plenty of engagements in schools, giving speeches and getting involved in activities. Also due to my work at Siemens I have access and knowledge to many interesting Siemens technology related resources, although I am not an engineer, so can't provide any expertise in this area.

We have a very gifted maths student, currently in yr 12, studying A level further maths. He is extremely curious about maths and is often researching topics beyond his syllabus. We are looking for a STEM Ambassador with a strong Maths background who would be interested in working with him on a regular basis to challenge him and expand his knowledge in this area. Our student will probably be doing STEP papers next year.
