  4. The Squashed Tomato Challenge

    The Squashed Tomato Challenge is a hands-on and brains-on activity suited to KS2-5 and perfect for NSEW (11-19th march).

    The Problem: how to transport tomatoes from a mountainside in Nepal to the market below
    The Challenge: to design and build a model system that can transport tomatoes without squashing them.

    A wide range of support materials are provided including teacher’s notes, student info sheet, student worksheets, certificates for taking part, as well as links to videos and information as how it’s done in Nepal using a gravity ropeway.
