First STEM school event: Mini-Olympics Workshop
A fantastic first workshop with STEM!
Working with two other colleagues we delivered a 3 hour workshop to years one and two from Crofton Hammond and Crofton Anne Dale Infant Schools.
With different science elements from household fireworks (diet coke and mentos/vinegar and bicarbonat of soda) to running and jumping, the kids seemed to enjoy every minute!
It was certainly a brilliant school event to start our STEM activities off with, the children were really engaged, loved everything we had to show them - and most of all got really stuck in!

SCUBA Anyone
I am a keen SCUBA diver and I think there is a lot I could share about gas laws and pressure that could be explained using diving as starting point.
Dalton's Law, Boyles Law, Henry's and Gay-Lussac Laws being the most obvious starting point.
Simple maths to determine the amount of air being consumed by a diver at varying depths could also be an interesting approach.
