Ambassadors are sought to host Year 12 students for an in-depth 4 week Experience in the summer of their Lower Sixth Year. During this period the student also takes on a research investigation that in parallel gains them a GOLD CREST Award of the British Science Association.
Many of the students progress to the Young Scientist of the Year/ Young Engineer Competition.
The scheme attracts exceptional students - we are particularly keen to find hosts who have an empathy for those sixth formers who go on to be the first in their family to be an undergraduate.

A pilot eMentoring scheme to support Y12 students who have an interest in the Nuffield Research Placements scheme.
The students have an interest in a Nuffield Research Placement but often lack confidence. This pilot scheme is trialling a bank of available resources that a mentor may find useful to assist the sixth former.
The students have broad interest across STEM disciplines.
The online resources are administered by the Brightside Trust and all contact is via a monitored on line portal.

What I can offer to schools
Studying medicine has given me an insight into a particular area of science and how it has a practical application. However, I also have a keen interest in academic sciences and am enthusiastic about teaching young people and igniting interest in science.
