The Sixth Form Careers Day aims to improve students knowledge about various professions and the qualifications and skills needed to enter them. Ambassadors will be asked to talk about their chosen profession, what pathway was taken (e.g Traditional or vocational), the career paths that exist within the profession, and the qualifications/skills/experiences necessary to succeed. This will be followed by a question and answer session. There are three sessions lasting 30-35 minutes.

Both the staff and the students at Aston Manor are really keen to invite 3 or more STEM Ambassadors who are scientists to visit the school to explain to students, exactly what their job involves in addition to allowing the students to ask them questions. A number of students have expressed a keen interest in entering the profession, but have never had the opportunity to meet people working in the science industry. Ideally the format would involve a presentation starting with ‘guess my job’ style clues.
