palatine are organising their FIRST ever STEM Week!

Co-inciding with National Science and Engineering Week 2013, they are looking for Ambassadors to come with anything STEM-my that they can offer!

Can you do:

i) A presentation
ii) A mini workshop / activity
iii) Just talk to the students about what you do / bring in something from your work?

We are looking for all offers of help to support this school in their first event, so get in touch!

The Preston Primary Engineers is run each year by Our Lady's Catholic High School. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances they are unable to support the catholic schools this year. As a result, I have contacted Christine James, who runs the Primary Engineers throughout the UK, and I have organised the event with my cluster schools. I have entered the compettion for the last three years and have progressed to national finals. Without the support of Our Lady's, Preston Schools will therefore need judges for the event.

All Hallows would like to arrange some STEM visits for their really keen Year 11 STEM Club students.

Can you offer a STEM visit that opens their eyes to a science, tech or engineering facility?

If so we want to hear from you - times will be arranged at the convenience of the STEM Ambassador / Company

Have you got a real STEM problem that needs a fresh eyes approach?

All Hallows STEM Club have a group of highly motivated Year 11 pupils that are looking for something from the STEM-world to get their teeth in to.

This is YOUR opportunity to get some FREE help, ideas and input from these interested young people. It could be a brainstorm session through to an actual long-term project, it is up to you.

Please get in touch if you can give these pupils something challenging and worthwhile - they have tried (and won !) lots of STEM activities going and need something with a purpose!

Central lancaster High would really like some STEM Ambassadors to inspire their Triple Science group of students.

These able young scientists would really benefit from the opportunity to listen to a talk / demo or Q&A with ambassadors:

We are looking for 3 ambassadors to each do a session on:

1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Biology

If you can offer one of these slots please get in touch.

The session would only need to be for 1 hour but you could have 2 hours if you would like!

Primary schools in the Ribble Valley are undertaking a Mission X space project, learning about space, nutrition, rockets and other associated STEM topics.

They are coming together on Tuesday 26th March for an activity/celebration session at the Grand in Clitheroe.

They are looking for STEM Ambassadors who can come and help with interactive mini-workshops on the same theme - have you got something interactive, simple and fun that you would like to run with small groups of Primary students to illustrate STEM?

St Georges are looking for some health care professionasl to come and speak to some Y11 pupils in the next few weeks, is there anything you could do to help that would be great.

They would like an overview of your career, what you do all day and how you got into your job.

Accrington Academy is interested in using their students' break and lunch times to 'inspire'.

They want to encourage more visitors to come in during lunch times and meet our students on an informal basis and discuss jobs, careers, routes into professions and just 'what do professionals do all day'

They want people to come in with information stands, demonstrations etc so that our students could approach them during lunch times. The idea is that visitors are allocated a large area either on the yard or in our indoor open space area that is used by students during lunch times.

We are hosting a careers fayre on the 13th February 2013 – 6.00 – 8.00pm, and are looking for people to illustrate STEM.

Could you talk to the students about your job and the value of STEM subjects to employers?

These primary students are doing an ICT unit on controlling devices and they are really struggling to make it relevant and interesting for their year 5s (aged 9/10)...

We are looking for a STEM Ambassador visitor to talk to them about it would help bring it alive?

If someone could do a demo on anything to do with simple control systems or LEGO MINDSTORMS that would be fantastic!
