STEM Awards at the Graphic Science Ambassadors' Reception 2012!
On Tuesday 18th September Graphic Science held their annual Ambassadors' Reception, to celebrate and share the inspiring work of STEM Ambassadors across Bristol, Bath and Somerset.
Sixty STEM Ambassadors attended the evening event at the beautiful Arnos Vale site and enjoyed networking over a buffet and drinks reception. Claire and Katy, who managed the contract for the past 12 months, ran through highlights from academic year 2011/12 before presenting four awards. Certificates and champagne were awarded for the following:
STEM Ambassador of the Year - Melanie Watson, NHS STEM Company of the Year – Airbus University STEM Department - Bristol Centre for Complexity Sciences STEM Activity of the Year - Balloon Launch and Space Engineering projects carried out by Andrew Bacon at SEA
The prizes were awarded in recognition of a variety of valued contributions made to the STEM Ambassador Programme. These included developing innovative school projects and workshops, participating in a wide variety of schools events, supporting schools across the whole region and encouraging colleagues to get involved in STEM activities.
We are very thankful for the continued time and enthusiasm our many ambassadors dedicate to the programme and look forward to continuing this success in academic year 2012/13!!
