Stargazing from the new observatory at The Long Eaton School, Derbyshire

We were invited to the official opening of the Malcolm Parry Observatory at the Long Eaton School, which took place on Tuesday evening.  What a fantastic facility!  There were amazing clear skies and we were able to view Jupiter and its Galilean moons through the main telescope.

The opening coincided with the BBC Stargazing Live events so it was truly was an evening of astronomical delights!
