Inspirational Engineering Jobs?

My first blog post here!
I'm writing this from my hotel room in Colorado, where I am currently on a climatic validation trip for a car manufacturer.
Thinking back to when I was at school, I had no real idea of what engineering involved and if it hadn't have been for some very enthusiastic teachers I would have got the impression it meant working in a dingy factory on an industrial estate.
My current role is varied and challenging, pushing you to learn new things constantly which makes it very rewarding. In the years since I graduated, I have travelled all over the world and made some very good friends through my work.
It struck me whilst on this trip, as some colleagues were comparing photos of previous trips and vehicles they'd worked on (including land speed record cars, various forms of motorsport, military vehicles, passenger cars, trucks and motorcycles!) that this is exactly the kind of example that persuaded me to consider engineering when I was younger and I think break the "maths and engineering is boring" image.
So this blog post is an offer really, if I can provide anyone with a brief summary of what my current role involves as a useful example to be included in your presentation / book / information, then get in touch. Photos of the actual testing are always difficult due to confidentiality but I can provide some interesting shots of the exotic and not so exotic locations we work in!

Hi Darren
This sounds like a great offer, thanks very much! We're always on the look-out for interesting case studies and will get in touch.
