"Guess my Job"
Today I helped out at my first full STEM event; "Guess My Job" at an all girls school for ages between 12 and 13.
When i inititally signed up i had no idea what to expect, but the organiser sent plenty of prep questions so i thought i knew what was coming. There were plenty of questions that came my way which werent on the sheet, but these were fun, inquisitive and at times really intelligent.
I must admit i underestimated the knowledge of the young girls and was expecting to explain my job in very simple terms, but it in fact turned out that they guessed my job relatively quickly and related to it well.
The whole event was very well organised and it gave me an opportunity to meet other STEM ambassadors, which is an important factor for someone new like me.
Not only was i able to inspire some young girls today, but i also managed to think about my job in a way i never have done before, so it was a 2-way lesson.
I would encourage all schools to get involved in this event, as and when they can and definately recommend ambassadors to join in also.

Thank you for blogging about your first Ambassador activity Amie and encouraging others to take part. It is great to hear you had so much fun and you and the girls got so much out of it. We hope it will be the first of many activities.
